Ayetian, Won Best New Artist and Award at the Caribbean Music Awards

Ayetian (born Malik Legend Tercien on January 9, 2005) is a 21-year-old Jamaican-born Dancehall artist who has rapidly transitioned from a high school viral sensation into one of the most compelling forces in modern Caribbean music. Hailing from the music-rich city of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Ayetian has injected a fresh, non-violent, lyrically sharp energy into the genre that bridges multiple generations and cultures. What sets Ayetian apart from his contemporaries is his rich dual identity. Born in Jamaica to Haitian parents who originally migrated to the island by boat, Ayetian proudly flies the flags of both nations. Growing up in a household soundtracked by Haitian konpa alongside standard Jamaican reggae and dancehall, he actively blends these distinct rhythmic heritages into a hybrid, global sound. Despite early peer scrutiny regarding his mixed nationality, he has heavily leaned into his identity, adopting the moniker "Ayetian" (a phonetic play on Haitian) to foster greater Caribbean unity through music.
